Valentino Vintage

“Valentino Vintage” at Madame Pauline, in Milan.

AT SELECT STORES WORLDWIDE / BEGINNING APRIL 18

Waste has been a byproduct of the fashion industry for years and solutions so far are few. Enter the Valentino Vintage project, a secondhand initiative that launched in October 2021 and is very hands-on. Owners of vintage Valentino pieces—whether a V-logo handbag, an embroidered coat, or yesteryear’s couture—can return these goods for credits at Valentino stores. As of this month, items that were traded are now on sale at handpicked vintage shops across Milan, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Seoul, Paris, London, and Los Angeles. Look for red awnings and special store-wrappings across town. In Tokyo’s The Vintage Dress, for example, items are on display gallery-style. The store is one-of-a-kind, and sells clothes that date back a century. —Elena Clavarino
