“This incredible collection speaks to Tony’s creative genius and his positive impact on others and the world,” said Olivia Chastan, the founder of Iconoclast, a company that manages the legacies of singers and artists. A two-day auction comprising more than 700 lots celebrates the career and life of Tony Bennett, who died last year. Julien’s Auction House gathers memorabilia and mementos, such as awards, letters, autographs, photographs, microphones, books, and jewelry, as well as landscapes and portraits painted by Bennett. While notes from Lady Gaga, Ella Fitzgerald, and Louis Armstrong remind us of the breadth of the singer’s work in the music industry, a letter typed and signed by Martin Luther King Jr. recognizes Bennett’s participation in the 1965 Selma-Montgomery march and the greater Civil Rights Movement. —Jeanne Malle
