This play, starring Mary-Louise Parker, blew audiences and critics away at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in the summer of 2018. By Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp, it charts an extended encounter between a Yale writing professor (Parker) and an awkward student (Will Hochman): as the narrative unfolds, audiences discover that both characters have been writing stories of their lives, and this play may be one of those stories. As in Williamstown, David Cromer (Tony winner for The Band’s Visit) directs this Broadway transfer. —K.F.
