In Chicago, for the first time, Leonardo’s Mona Lisa, Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night, and Michelangelo’s David are all on view together. Well, not the originals. These are copies of those works made out of LEGO bricks. Featuring more than 100 sculptures, this exhibition shows work the artist Nathan Sawaya has created by gluing together LEGOs. As the artist has explained, he wants his art to “inspire kids to go home and create their own.” In addition to reimagined masterpieces, Sawaya has also crafted original works, such as a 20-foot sculpture of Tyrannosaurus Rex. —Jensen Davis
