At the Museum of Late Human Antiquities, 12 exhibits retrace the journey of human history. Only the year is 2240 and that history includes the ascent of robots and A.I., which has left humankind lost and powerless. A group of curators, however, still hold hope. They strive to revive civilization by teaching visitors what they have lost. Written by Jordan Harrison, The Antiquities is a cautionary tale that views the potential disasters of the far future as closer than we think. The play “could win a scary-story contest itself, as it maps one possible route, the Via Technologica, from Romantic glory to species demise,” writes Jesse Green in The New York Times.
