“For once the stones will be totally peaceful, and nobody has to get up at 3am and get very cold.” That’s Tim Laurence, the chairman of the English Heritage Society and husband of Princess Anne, putting a positive spin on the news that the 4,500-year-old Stonehenge monument will not be open to visitors on this year’s summer solstice.
