Slim Aarons photographs film producer Kevin McClory as he and his wife, Bobo Sigrist, take their kids for a drive across the Nassau Harbour in an “Amphicar.” The Beatles frolic in the Miami surf, in an image shot by Harry Benson. Four lipsticked ladies, in swimsuits and sunglasses, are snapped upside-down in Bavaria by Ellen von Unwerth. Spanning the 20th century to the present, photos from masters Arthur Elgort, Helmut Newton, Rodney Smith, and Steve McCurry—whose 1995 Tourists Lounge Poolside, Sri Lanka, pictures an elephant sauntering by a pair of sunbathers, tale swinging in the sea breeze—evoke the end-of-summer spirit. While you’re there, also check out some of the other online exhibitions curated from the gallery’s archive. “Best in Show,” featuring more dogs than you’ll know what to do with, is not to be missed. —J.V.
