Both a nightclub and the birthplace of Dadaism, Cabaret Voltaire—in Zürich, Switzerland—is celebrating one of Dada’s key figures: Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889–1943). The exhibition features her textile designs, letters, and artworks (including a necklace never shown before), but not in isolation. Rather, Taeuber-Arp enters into a dialogue with the Geneva-based artist Mai-Thu Perret (born in 1976). Perret has drawn great inspiration from Taeuber-Arp, even quoting her work. With the recent touring retrospective “Sophie Taeuber-Arp,” the artist’s visibility around the world has increased. Cabaret Voltaire hopes to further her exposure and legacy. —Clara Molot
