Compared to the Tribeca and New York film festivals, the SOHO International Film Festival lags behind in flourish and fanfare. Nevertheless, there’s a reason the week-long event, presented by the SOHO Film Forum, is now entering its 14th year. Beginning on September 14 and featuring over 100 short and feature films—among them, 35 world premieres—the SIFF does well to mingle U.S.-made works (including an impressive roster of New York City-based productions) with contributions from more than 30 international directors. It’s the perfect opportunity to see work that you won’t easily come across anywhere else.
