“The transformation of the experience,” Rebecca Horn once said, “that is pure art.” After suffering from a lung illness, Horn’s works have become increasingly centered around bodily forms. She embraces the paradoxical (strength versus weakness, for instance). A sense of poetry—or fragility—permeates her ethereal videos and installations. And wings and white feathers suggest a sense of earthly fallibility, infused with the mystical. —E.C.
