La Scala presents Luca Francesconi’s Quartett, his 2011 chamber distillation of the scandalous French novel by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos, Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Those two Machievellian partners in crime, the Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont, will be sung by mezzo-soprano Allison Cook and baritone Robin Adams. —L.J.
