Like England’s New Forest, Denmark’s New Jungle Orchestra is actually quite old. Founded nearly 40 years ago by guitarist Pierre Dørge, it remains youthful by nurturing, in its eponymous Ellingtonian soil, new seeds of rhythm and timbre from Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and zany interior land masses yet to be mapped. —E.E.
