Brian Desmond Hurst’s Theirs Is the Glory—a British film from 1946 that re-creates the 1944 Battle of Arnhem, and for veritas cast more than 200 1st Airborne Division veterans who fought in the battle—was the highest grossing war film for almost a decade after its premiere. Following D-Day’s 76th anniversary, Heritage Auctions is selling the buoyant British Quad movie poster for the film, estimated to bring between $1,500 and $3,000 at auction. Heritage, which also deals in American, modern, and contemporary art, comic art, and historical manuscripts (it sold Lincoln’s inaugural address for a cool $2.2 million), is auctioning several hundred vintage movie posters; big titles include Casablanca, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Walking Dead. The auction is online only. —J.V.
