The painter Lottie Cole is best known for her whimsical depictions of British interiors. Cole’s watercolors and paintings come alive with bright pinks, blues, reds, and greens. In this exhibition she brings viewers into her own interiors, and paints scenes of motherhood and sisterhood, including clips from her favorite poems, as well as musings about the act of reading itself. Cole’s charming rooms are much more than the objects inside them. —Clara Molot
