Liberation

They say history repeats itself. For Lizzie and her daughter, it certainly does. In 1970, Lizzie and five other women gathered on a basketball court in Ohio to confront the obstacles they faced and the future they hoped to shape. Written by Bess Wohl, this new play explores friendship, history, and the real meaning of freedom. It’s directed by Whitney White, who also directed Jaja’s African Hair Braiding. —Jeanne Malle
