It began life as a firehouse. Then it became a quaint Baptist church. When the artist Dan Flavin stumbled upon the Hamptons property, he thought the shingle-style building would be a perfect permanent space for his fluorescent light works. In 1983 it became Dia Bridgehampton, run by the Dia Art Foundation, and along with Flavin’s work it presents temporary exhibitions. For the next year, a series of low-profile sculptures by the multidisciplinary artist Leslie Hewitt will live in the gallery’s indoor and outdoor spaces. There is also a diagrammatic score on view, composed with the artist Jamal Cyrus. —Elena Clavarino
