Jordan (Naomi Lorrain) does everything around the office. She’s a receptionist who goes above and beyond, taking orders, picking up dry cleaning, making coffee. She’s also the only Black employee at Atlas Studios, a trendy rental and production space. That is until her boss, Hailey (Kate Walsh), decides Atlas has a “culture problem.” Hailey hires a “Director of Culture.” He too is named Jordan (Toby Onwumere), and he too is Black. The two Jordans face each other as well as a question—when does affinity give way to ambition? Written by the Public’s Emerging Writers Group alumnus Ife Olujobi, this is a satire on racial capitalism, assimilation, competition, and survival. —Jeanne Malle
