Jaume Plensa sculpts on a monumental scale. He’s the architect of the Crown Fountain at Chicago’s Millennium park, where two 50-foot-tall glass towers display projections of human faces that spout real water. He’s also the man behind Dream, the sculpture of a girl’s head, 66 feet high, installed in the meadows of St. Helens, in Merseyside, England. Plensa was born in Barcelona in 1955, and today, at 67, he still lives just a few streets from where he grew up. This exhibition at the Modernist building of La Pedrera presents some of his most intimate works, dating from 1990 to the present. —Elena Clavarino
