Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth II walk into a bar … and then Moira Buffini takes over and imagines the rest. First staged in 2010, Handbagged takes place between 1979 and 1990, the period when both women ruled England. While the show covers major historical moments of the 1980s, it also provides the petty, mean, kind, and mundane conversations the two leaders may have had when no one was around to overhear.
