Gogo Boots Go

Aug 2–25, 2024
180 High St, Edinburgh EH1 1QS, United Kingdom

Charlie runs a bridal shop. Clelia needs a wedding dress. They meet serendipitously, laughing and sharing intimate personal details more openly than they ever have before. As the day goes on, their connection grows undeniably deep. “This is the gay 90s RomCom we all should’ve seen,” Rosalie Roger-Lacan and Amber Charlie-Conroy, the play’s two writers and actors, have said. They met three years ago at university in Bristol, England, where they formed the theater company Talkers and Doers with two other friends, Cecelia Quant and Aelfi Hackney. Led by women, the budding company finds inspiration in the gray areas of our lives, looking to the nonsensical nature of the everyday. Gogo Boots Go, the company’s fourth play, premieres at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. —Jeanne Malle
