“Giacometti was a major love affair,” the American minimalist sculptor Fred Sandback (1943–2003) said of the Swiss artist. Sandback took inspiration from Giacometti’s conception of space, his belief that it must be created, sculpted, and stripped down to its core. This exhibition, the first to present these two important 20th-century artists in dialogue, lets viewers experience the intersection of two very different artistic visions. —Clara Molot
