It’s Frieze time in Los Angeles, and along with the new venue and the swanky booths a lot of other fun openings are popping up around town. Like this one: Alex Tieghi-Walker of Tiwa Select and Max Farago of FARAGO have co-curated a collection by artists from four continents. The works on view are both two and three dimensional, constructed in metal, ceramics, textiles, wood, paper, and canvas. Some pieces were not meant for public display, but are so beautifully made that they answer their purpose and transcend it. Emphasis is placed on the art of craft, and on artisans who spend years harnessing and refining their practice. Among those in the show are Michael Lindsay-Hogg, Jim McDowell, and Louis Mueller. —Elena Clavarino
