Ed Ruscha VERY: Works from the UBS Art Collection

Sept 23, 2019 – Jan 10, 2020
1285 6th Ave, New York, NY 10019, United States

“You see this badly done on purpose,” Ed Ruscha once said of one of his works, “but the badly-done-on-purpose thing was done so well that it just becomes, let’s say, profound.” Born in Nebraska, but a quintessential West Coast man with a dry sense of humor, Ruscha’s art comments on the decline of language and culture, often with a sense of satire. Though he works in many media, this exhibition celebrates the artist with 56 paintings, works on paper, and prints. —E.C.
