After hitting it big in investment banking, Ronnit Vasserman left the world of business for the world of art—specifically, art consulting. The founder of Art Connect Group, a New York-based consulting firm, Vasserman will share her expertise with the public in three talks at the 92nd Street Y. Each focuses on a female photographer who was powerfully influential in the last century. First up, on October 22, is the midcentury photographer Diane Arbus, known for her intimate, yet queasy, black-and-white portraits. On October 29, Vasserman turns to Cindy Sherman, the still-working artist who reinvented self-portraiture. And on November 5, the series ends with a focus on Francesca Woodman, who died in 1981 at the age of 22, yet had already won acclaim for her haunting female-centric photos. Buy tickets in advance because the talks will not be recorded. —J.D.
