The Black Lives Matter movement has brought racial injustice in the U.S. to the forefront of public consciousness. It’s also sparked sister movements in countries ranging from the Netherlands—protests in Amsterdam this summer demanded a reckoning with the Dutch colonial past—to South Africa, where the recent police killing of a Black teen with Down syndrome was met with widespread outrage. In the U.K., London’s National Theatre is reopening with Clint Dyer and Roy Williams’s stand-alone production Death of England: Delroy.
