What evolved into the “Death of England” series, three stage dramas written by Clint Dyer and Roy William, started in 2020. That January, the duo debuted a one-man show that explored life in contemporary England through Michael, the son of a white racist flower seller. Seven months later came the second play, which looked at Delroy, a Black working class Brit who has a child with Michael’s sister, Carly. The third and final installment looks at Carly and Delroy’s mother, Denise. The play starts at the end of their short-lived business venture, a West Indian cafe. As they pack up the business, their roving discussion covers everything from Harry and Meghan to the racism that ran in Carly’s family. Clint Dyer directs. —Jensen Davis
