City Center Dance Festival

Mar 24 – Apr 10, 2022
131 W 55th St, New York, NY 10019, USA

New York City Center is a cozy place to see dance and in March, the City Center Dance Festival presents four great American dance companies in sequential order over 18 days. First up, Paul Taylor Dance Company, with classics such as Roses, Airs, and Esplanade. Ballet Hispánico follows with the world-premiere of Doña Perón, a full-length portrait of Eva Perón. Third is Dance Theatre of Harlem, with three New York premieres. Finally, the Martha Graham Dance Company takes the stage. Graham’s marvelous Acts of Light, not seen in New York for 15 years, is on Program A; Appalachian Spring is on Program B; and both programs contain a world premiere, still untitled, by the Israeli choreographer Hofesh Shechter. —L.J.
