If there’s one thing the world never tires of, it’s love. And maybe, also, humor. Which bodes well for All In: Comedy About Love, a new play by Simon Rich that interweaves the two themes. A former writer for Saturday Night Live, Rich has brought to life several of his short stories, works first published in The New Yorker. The play features a lineup of renowned comedians, including John Mulaney, Fred Armisen, Hank Azaria, and Chloe Fineman, who perform a series of vignettes—some humorous, some poignant—that explore the complexities of dating, marriage, breakups, and heartbreak. Each week, four actors will take the stage, primarily delivering their lines from chairs. Lin-Manuel Miranda will step in for Mulaney after the first five weeks, taking over a rotating cast of actors. —Jeanne Malle
