“I see art making as a ritual, a meditation for myself,” Ugo Rondinone has said. If art is a ritual, the gallery is Rondinone’s temple. He is best known for his large-scale “land art” sculptures, which conjure the elements and have been installed around the world, at sites including the Jardin des Tuilleries, the Yokohama Triennale, and Rockefeller Center. At the Musée Rath, Rondinone is curating more than 200 pieces from the museum’s collection, and staging them in dialogue with his own creations. —Elena Clavarino
