If the many legal squabbles of the Woodstock semi-centennial are killing your peace-and-love buzz, take a 13-mile detour from Bethel Woods (the actual site, which will offer Santana, Ringo Starr, and more) to the banks of the Upper Delaware. There, free music from dozens of bands will include a bit of jazz and blues, notably from genial guitarist Slam Allen and pianist Kazzrie Jaxen, who adds Aquarian spirit to the brainy rigor of her teacher, Lennie Tristano. —E.E.
