Bodkin

Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, and Robyn Cara in Bodkin.

Like the star trio of Only Murders in the Building, the main characters of Bodkin are making a podcast. The successful podcast host Gilbert Power (Will Forte) has decided to tell the story of a 21-year-old cold case in Ireland, so he and his assistant, Emmy (Robyn Cara), journey to the fictionalized Irish town of Bodkin. There they will look into the unexplained disappearance of three people who went missing on the Irish Night of the Dead, Samhain. The pair are joined in their exploration by Dove Maloney (Siobhán Cullen), a hard-nosed investigative journalist who is sent, against her will, to help them. Bodkin is dark and funny, and Forte, Cara, and Cullen turn in fine performances. But what drives the series is the case at hand, which is further dramatized by a Wicker Man setup: Inquiring outsiders probe a mysterious event in a mysterious land, guarded by mysterious inhabitants who know how to keep their secrets.
