It’s that time of year again. Just as birds are heading south for their winter nesting grounds, it’s time to head to Wausau, Wisconsin, for the internationally renowned “Birds in Art” exhibition, an annual curated event that celebrates the best in avian art. The 2022 show includes 118 artists from all around the world, working in a number of mediums. But whether it’s oils, acrylics, linocut, digital drawing, or sculpture, these artists remain true to their subjects, as witness Super Hero, John Miller’s serigraph of a Peregrine falcon, whose aerial dive makes it the fastest winged creature on Earth. —Laura Jacobs
