This October, the BFI London Film Festival brings some of the year’s most anticipated new films, series, and immersive works to cinemas across London, screening 251 works from 88 countries, including Wildwood, the latest from LAIKA. Directed by Travis Knight, the film was handcrafted in stop-motion and features a fantastical cast of puppets and meticulously built sets. Danny Boyle’s dynamic new drama, Ink, which was adapted from James Graham’s hit play, dramatizes the moment Rupert Murdoch acquired The Sun in 1969, a turning point that reshaped British journalism forever. Finally, Duncan Jones returns to science fiction with Rogue Trooper. An animated adaptation of the cult comic strip published in 2000 AD magazine, it features the voices of Aneurin Barnard, Matt Berry, and Hayley Atwell. While you’re there, head to Queen’s Walk at the Southbank Centre and stop by Puck and Air Mail’s Box Office for a cup of tea, a guide to the festival, and a chance to win tickets to BFI London Film Festival screenings and events. —Clara Scholl
