Art Paris strikes a balance that is beyond other fairs: its French representation is just as rich as its international offerings. This year, the fair comes just as Paris is emerging as a mecca for the arts. While other countries have placed constraints on international business, inhibiting gallerists from partaking in cultural exchange, the French government’s creative embrace has resulted in new venues and restored artistic institutions, such as the majestic Grand Palais. In its 28th edition, the fair is hosting 165 galleries, both French and international, and has foregrounded two themes: art and language, and reparation. Guided tours both in person and online make this display of contemporary art accessible for all. —Maggie Turner
