Now in their 15th season of multicultural programming, Matthew J. Detrick and his Apollo Chamber Players celebrate the conclusion of their Moonshot-inspired commissioning project 20x2020. Highlights include new scores by Jennifer Higdon, Jerod Impichchaachaaha’ Tate, and Pierre Jalbert. Among numerous special guests, the name that pops is John Herrington, retired United States Naval Aviator and former NASA astronaut—the first Native American to fly in space. He’s also the author of a children’s book called Mission to Space, remarkable for its English-to-Chickasaw vocabulary list of relevant terms. Wow.
