Last week at 660 Madison Avenue, the former site of Barney’s, crowds gathered to celebrate Louis Vuitton’s bicentenary with the opening of a unique exhibition. Around 200 artists and collaborators were asked to personalize a blank canvas that measured the same dimensions as the original Louis Vuitton trunk, conceived back in the 1850s. Immersive environments take viewers through the changing spaces, and names of participants include Hans Ulrich Obrist, Peter Marino, and Marc Jacobs. For those who are feeling nostalgic, Freds has been revived on the top floor. But be sure to book in advance. —Elena Clavarino
