When I strip down and submit my body to a series of medical scans, I might as well be in a science-fiction movie. Which one, I have no idea. I don’t like sci-fi, so I say this with zero authority. How about Gattaca? If a sci-fi movie were designed by a Swede with just the right amount of softness, that’s what mine would be. Gattaca meets a restrained, Swedish Nancy Meyers.
The point is, it’s beautiful and futuristic and looks more like a refined spa than a medical center. In this sci-fi Nancy Meyers movie set in London, I prepare to have my health assessed, my biomarkers mapped, and the results presented to me by a doctor—all in one hour, start to finish, head to toe, heart to blood to every last mole. Does it cost around $2,500, like that full-body M.R.I. scan from Prenuvo that Kim Kardashian got? It does not. The price for the entire experience, including the doctor’s consultation, is £299, or about $375.
