In 2014, just a few months after launching their interior design firm Casa Muñoz, the husband-and-wife duo Mafalda Muñoz and Gonzalo Machado landed the commission of their dreams: The supermodel Eugenia Silva gave them carte blanche to decorate her 3,800-square-foot apartment above Madrid’s Parque del Oeste. They were easy to trust—Muñoz, whose father founded the design firm Casa & Jardin in 1951 and the furniture company Darro in 1959, hails from design royalty. While she oversees interior architecture, Muñoz, who began his career as Mario Testino’s assistant, is the firm’s creative director.

Over the last 10 years, the couple has had two children, opened the Spanish capital’s first contemporary design gallery, Machado-Muñoz, in the glamorous Justicia neighborhood, and set up an office in Gstaad. Here, they share their go-to restaurants, sights, shops, and more in their home city.
