Yunchul Kim’s silver and crystal artworks look like jewels orbiting in outer space. His sculpture Cascade suggests a chandelier rewiring itself into a rocket ship. He speaks of “neon detectors” and “liquid transfer systems,” because his creations have a circulation—a working energy. The website text that explains “Glare” is so esoteric it will cross your eyes. But the work—whether you want to call it scientific or sci fi or surreal—is like nothing you’ve ever seen. —E.C.
