Most design aficionados have likely visited the New York Design Center, perched at 200 Lexington Avenue. The building is divided into 100 showrooms specializing in modern design, textiles, and antiques from around the globe. With so many choices the place can be daunting to navigate alone, which is why the Design Center hosts an annual day-long event called “What’s New What’s Next.” The program is packed tight. There are collection reveals—for instance, four new rugs by Jeffrey Alan Marks for The Rug Company—and best of all, panels. Don’t miss “Designing for the Long Haul,” which will be moderated by the editor of Elle Decor, Asad Syrkett, in conversation with Ken Fulk, Andrew Kotchen, and Delia Kenza. —Elena Clavarino
