The 128.54-carat yellow diamond by Tiffany & Co.

June 10 – Aug 19, 2022
Duke of York's HQ, King's Rd, Chelsea, London SW3 4RY, United Kingdom

Tiffany & Co. has long been synonymous with sophisticated sparkle. One thinks of its famed display windows on Fifth Avenue, where Audrey Hepburn as Holly Golightly stood eating her morning croissant; and its house designers Jean Schlumberger, Elsa Peretti, and Paloma Picasso; and, of course, its magnificent jewels, such as the show-stopping 128.54-carat yellow diamond seen on Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. The jeweler’s first flagship store opened in New York in 1837. The company crossed the pond to London 35 years later, in 1872. In this exhibition, 400 objects celebrate the brand’s 150th anniversary in the U.K. Highlights include the recently acquired Empire Diamond and—lo and behold—the original script from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. —Elena Clavarino
