Giacomo Puccini’s man-hating Turandot, an ice princess with a #MeToo sense of vengeance, meets famed video artist Franc Aleu, known for stage imagery of kaleidoscopic color and light. Aleu has brought his filmic vision to Turandot before, but in this production he directs. Dramatic sopranos Iréne Theorin and Lise Lindstrom take turns in the title role. —L.J.
