“I see myself as an artist first and foremost,” says Tiffany Chung, “but I am not afraid of stepping beyond the boundary of art into other disciplines”—such as historian, anthropologist, archaeologist. This she does in “Vietnam, Past is Prologue.” Through meticulously created maps and emotional interviews, not least a conversation with her South Vietnamese father, Chung’s exhibition retrieves a missing perspective on the war and how it was experienced—that of the South Vietnamese. —J.V.
