The Dallas Opera opens with The Magic Flute, which had the most successful first run of all Mozart’s operas and is in some ways the most mysterious, with its touches of German Romanticism and Masonic philosophy, its symbols and symmetries. This is the production of the late Sir Peter Hall, one of the great Mozarteans. —L.J.
