New York’s annual Armory Show returns this weekend in its 30th edition, with more than 235 galleries from 35 countries. Highlights include a new work by the sculptor Sanford Biggers at the Marianne Boesky Gallery—he blends ancient Greco-Roman forms with African masks—and Dominique Fung’s sculptural evocations of Asian wet markets, presented by Jeffrey Deitch. The anniversary year also features several exciting off-site partnerships. For example, the luxury mattress company Hästens has recreated a hotel room inspired by the fair’s original 1994 exhibition at the Gramercy Park Hotel; and at the U.S. Open, sculptures and mixed-media installations, the work of artists from underrepresented backgrounds, are on display. Exciting programming also returns in the form of Armory Live, which features conversations between specialists. On Saturday, September 7, Kyla McMillan, the fair’s new director, and Sarah Douglas of ARTNews will address the future of the Armory Show. —Lucy Horowitz
