After an unexplained half-year hiatus, the A24 podcast is back. The format remains the same as it was in the first episode, which aired back in 2018—no hosts, no ads. It’s just two people discussing movies and television for an hour. The podcast returns with David Lowery—the writer and director who recently teamed up with A24 to release The Green Knight—and Elijah Wood, the actor known for his roles in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Their conversation ranges from their mothers’ roles in their careers to a discussion of the best horror movies to post-production editing rage. It’s worth listening to old episodes, too, which feature guests like Martin Scorsese, Claire Denis, horror movie director Ari Aster, and Jonah Hill. One of the best episodes is a conversation between an unlikely duo: comedian Nathan Fielder and Euphoria actress Alexa Demie, who were fans of each other but hadn’t met before a microphone recorded this conversation. —J.D.
