Takesada Matsutani: Stream

Streaming on Hauser & Wirth

Born in Ōsaka in 1937, Takesada Matsutani has created a visual language out of graphite, vinyl adhesive, and sometimes bright color. This intimate online exhibition looks at work from the 1970s to 2020, art that is spartan, suggestive, witty. Asked if the pandemic had changed his practice, Matsutani answers, “A little bit at first, but I find my routine is the same and focus on the work is the same. In the end, the beauty is still there and continues to exist.” —L.J.
