The English feminist and socialist Sylvia Pankhurst is remembered for the militant tactics she used in her fight for women’s rights. Despite her political accomplishments, however, she’s perhaps best known as the daughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, the first force behind women’s suffrage in the U.K. In the musical Sylvia, the younger Pankhurst, who lived from 1882 to 1960, is the star of the show. The book and lyrics are by Kate Prince, and the music was composed by Josh Cohen and D. J. Walde. The world premiere production is on at ZooNation. —Jensen Davis
