The prolifically gifted Ravi Shankar, India’s most famous musician, started his only opera in the last year of his life, 2012, and died before it was finished. Called Sukanya, the name of both his young last wife and a young woman in his favorite Hindu myth, it premiered in 2017, completed by Shankar’s daughter Anoushka Shankar and the composer David Murphy. A hybrid of Eastern and Western classicism, it comes back for a single semi-staged performance. —L.J.
