The cosmic opera Star Choir, by Malik Gaines and Alexandro Segade, premiered last fall at the landmarked Mount Wilson Observatory, in Pasadena. Produced by The Industry, an opera company dedicated to never repeating itself, the show stationed the ensemble cast and orchestra inside the 100-inch telescope. How about that? The storyline concerns a starship crew adapting to life on a hostile, perhaps sentient planet.
